About Us

The purpose of this database is to facilitate the sharing of tracers between compound developers and researchers. The goal is to broaden the availability of novel research SPECT tracers for in-vivo animal studies and to thereby broaden the use of SPECT studies in basic biology and pharmaceutical research.
The tracers in this database can be obtained from a variety of sources - hospital or commercial radiopharmacies (for clinically approved compounds), companies who are conducting clinical trials of novel tracers and are willing to make them available for pre-clinical research as well, and a wide range of researchers who are developing tracers for specific targets. The last group has by far the largest number of tracers to offer to the research community, and we hope that these developers will enter their compounds into the database and make them available to other researchers.
New tracers can be entered into the database simply by clicking on [NEW] at the top of the page and filling out the requested information. New tracers will be added to the database as long as there is sufficient information to show that they have demonstrated specific molecular targeting in an animal model.
We hope that you will find this database useful both for disseminating information about your new tracers and for obtaining information on other tracers that may be useful in your research. We welcome your new entries into the database as well as your comments and suggestions for improvements.
